Kelly looks forward to “hearing the incredible family stories our clients have to tell. A good story starts from where you came from, where you are today, and where you want to go next. The part I like best is offering our unique services so that members of succeeding generations will have new stories to tell.”
It takes a good listener to elicit stories, and Kelly subscribes to the Zen Buddhist concept of Shoshin — or beginner’s mind — which means letting go of preconceptions and adopting an attitude of openness when listening to a client’s hopes, dreams, and goals.
In addition to his work with Ascent, Kelly currently serves as a board member and treasurer for Outside the Lens, an educational nonprofit that empowers youth through photography and video programs in San Diego.
A graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Kelly is also a CPA and holds an NASD Series 65 license.
