Seattle Family Office

Lance Losey, J.D.

Regional Managing Director, Seattle

As regional managing director, Lance leads a senior, multi-disciplinary team  to deliver integrated wealth management and family office services to Pacific Northwest client families. Lance began his career at Ascent as the  managing  director of wealth strategy, a role he held for six years before his promotion to regional managing director. Formerly a partner and chairman of the estate planning and probate practice group at a leading Seattle law firm, he brings to his role extensive experience in the complexities and challenges of supporting positive impact within multigenerational families.

Lance was drawn to wealth management by a desire to help families achieve their full potential. “Each family has a unique vision. My challenge is to understand the vision and provide direction and tools in line with the family’s goals.”

His background gives him a unique sensitivity to the impact of family dynamics on effective wealth management. “Great wealth assures significant impact — for good or bad — so we must support our clients in building on strengths and mitigating conflict. Sophisticated strategies may fall short if not embraced by the whole family and guided by its unique vision.”

Lance has been a frequent speaker on estate, trust and fiduciary issues, as well as a leading voice in the emerging fields of family governance and vision-driven, family inclusive wealth transfer planning. He is a founding chairman of the Washington State Bar Association’s estate and trust litigation committee. He is also a member of the advisory board of the Seattle chapter of the National Christian Foundation, member of the board of directors of the Northwest chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and Board Member of Responsive Education Solutions, Inc.

Lance earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from Regent University School of Law.

Addressing both the qualitative and quantitative dimensions of multigenerational wealth, Ascent takes a holistic approach to client service. Each regional office is staffed by a team of professionals that include managing directors of wealth strategy (trust and estate advisors), investment consulting, private banking and financial administration.

These subject matter experts work closely with Ascent's regional managing director, client advisory — the relationship manager who is the primary point of contact for the family and individual family members — and the managing director, client experience — the key contact for day-to-day client requests. Team members actively participate in client meetings, providing an uncommon depth and breadth of wealth management expertise.

Ascent Private Capital Management's unique wealth sustainability services are delivered by our national team. Headquartered in our Denver office, they work closely with the regional office teams and travel exclusively to meet with Ascent families and their advisors.

The national team is led by a senior managing director for wealth sustainability and includes senior wealth planners and strategic wealth coaches, all focused on helping families understand the broader impact of their wealth. They address issues of family governance and legacy, wealth planning and CFO services.
